VOLKSWAGEN COMPONENT PROTECTION REMOVAL SPECIALISTS
If your Volkswagen displays “Component Protection Active” after installing a new or used control module, Melbourne Euro can help!
We provide Volkswagen Component Protection (CP) removal, ODIS online adaptation and control module programming for vehicle owners, mechanics, transmission specialists and automotive workshops.
WHAT IS VOLKSWAGEN COMPONENT PROTECTION?
Volkswagen Component Protection (CP) is an electronic security system used on many modern Volkswagen vehicles to prevent protected electronic components from being transferred between vehicles without authorised adaptation.
When a replacement module is installed, certain functions may be restricted, and a Component Protection Active fault or warning may be stored until the component is correctly adapted to the vehicle.
MODULES THAT MAY REQUIRE COMPONENT PROTECTION REMOVAL
Depending on the Volkswagen model and year, Component Protection may affect systems such as:
- MIB infotainment units
- Radio and navigation systems
- Amplifiers and sound systems
- Gateway modules
- Instrument clusters
- Climate control modules
- Electronic control modules
- Other Component Protection-enabled modules
If you’ve fitted a used Volkswagen module and it isn’t operating correctly, Component Protection may be one of the causes.
VOLKSWAGEN ODIS ONLINE COMPONENT PROTECTION
Melbourne Euro uses Volkswagen ODIS with online access for supported Component Protection procedures.
The process allows compatible replacement components to be securely identified and adapted to the vehicle through the Volkswagen diagnostic system.
Our services include:
- Volkswagen Component Protection removal
- ODIS online programming
- New and used module adaptation
- Replacement control module coding and programming
- MIB and infotainment Component Protection
- Gateway and electronic module programming

I had my vw golf mk7 checked up in this place today. I was so impressed with the service. The shop owner was super friendly and they found out the issue right away which so many mechanics I have met before couldn’t. I definitely will come back next time.

I recently brought my car back to Melbourne Euro for a service, and once again I had such a great experience.
The team did an amazing job with the service and had my car running perfectly. One of my favourite parts is that they always go the extra mile, they even washed and cleaned my car, which I really appreciate every time I come here.
They also took the time to identify and explain a few other issues that may need attention, which I found really helpful. Throughout the whole process, they were kind, professional, and very easy to communicate with.
It’s clear they genuinely care about their customers and the quality of their work. I’ll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable and honest mechanic!
